Effective performance metrics

Law firm of tomorrow image

Webinar – 25 September 2025 (9.30-10.30am)

Effective performance metrics identify risks, drive growth, drive profitability and cash flow, and make managing a law firm (and the individuals in it) much easier.

The best metrics will differ from firm to firm, depending on size and the sophistication of your systems, but the thinking behind the metrics is the same.

For this webinar, we envisage that the questions might include:

  • What are the best KPIs to track our primary revenue streams?
  • How do we measure client satisfaction and retention?
  • What are the key drivers of profitability in different practice areas?
  • How do we assess and manage operational efficiency?
  • How do we measure and improve cash flow?
  • How do we use metrics to identify and quantify risk?
  • What are the most effective marketing and BD metrics?
  • How can we easily benchmark against competitor firms?
  • Using metrics, using only the most basic technology, what are the easy wins?
  • When do you use an OKR instead of a KPI?
  • What are the best metrics for achieving long-term growth?

A panel will answer questions from the host and the attendees. Surveys and live polls will ensure that the speakers cover the aspects that the attendees deem most important.

This webinar will provide insights and tips that you can immediately put into practice in your own firm.

Host and panel

Our panel includes Alexandra Hatchman, whose varied career includes having been CEO of both Fletchers Solicitors and Napthens. She is now a NED on three boards and works with PE houses on M&A in the legal sector.

Alex will be joined by Andy Harris and Samantha Holden. Andy is a partner at accountants Hazlewoods, where he has been a member of their legal team for over 20 years. Samantha is head of customer success at Katchr, the performance management software used by law firms.

The panel is completed by Martyn Kendrick of Lloyds, the regional director who heads up the bank's legal sector team.

As usual, the webinar's host is Andy Poole, a legal sector partner and COO at accountants Armstrong Watson.
